Casa Del Matador: Tex-Mex Restaurant in Portland, OR

Casa Del Matador in Portland, Oregon
Casa Del Matador is an excellent Tex Mex restaurant in downtown Portland. They have two locations. These pictures were taken at their North West Portland location. It is not very easy to find Tex - Mex food in Portland and this place is one of my top two favorites in all of Portland.

Last time I was there I had one of my favorites, Pork Tacos al Pastor, and mercy they were good!  My girlfriend got the fajitas and they looked amazing. She refused to share, so I assume they were good.

My pictures just didn't do justice to this restaurant. The bar area is very cool. That's it in the 1st photo. Yes, that's a longhorn skull up there.

In this next photo you can see a round fireplace with a table around it. I really want to eat around that fireplace, but every time I've been in someone is already sitting there.

I don't know if you can tell from our faces, but the drinks were pretty good too. I had a margarita and they served it in a large glass. It was the same size as the glass in the picture.

4 Delicious Restaurants in Copan, Honduras

Honduras food is unique and always good.  Here are 4 restaurants in Copan, Honduras that I recommend.  All four are kid friendly.

B’alam Café – Located at the Yat Balam Hotel. (which looked very nice)  We had the best breakfast during our trip here. Balam Cafe Copan Honduras

Balam Cafe Copan HondurasCarnitas Nia Lola Copan HondurasCarnitas Nia Lola Copan HondurasCarnitas Nia Lola – I don’t remember what I had here, but it was good.  Check out the waitress above carry our appetizer to us on her head!

Asados Copan – One of the best meals I have ever had anywhere.  Click to see pictures of the delicious food we ate.  Their specialty is grilled meats.

Elisa’s Cafeteria – This restaurant is located in the hotel we stayed in and was the first place we ate at in Copan.  It was very good.  We were with a lot of people and everyone ordered something different and everyone loved their food.  We had the best Copan grown coffee from here every morning while we sat in the hotel courtyard.

8 Ways to save money in Las Vegas

Living in Vegas is expensive, especially for a family of five.  We try to find free activities in Vegas  and places kids eat free in Vegas, when we can  Anytime we go out we pay tourist prices. I constantly look for ways to save money, especially on eating out.  Here is what I have found so far in Vegas.  Each of these are deal websites that I watch, I hope they help you save on your next Las Vegas Vacation.

  • Restaurant.com - Las Vegas has almost 200 restaurants that participate in these restaurant gift certicates. Some of my favorites are Memphis Championship BBQ, Pink Taco, Strip burger, House of Blues, and BB Kings.  This can really help a you have an inexpensive family vacation. Just be careful about the ones that automatically add 18% gratuity. Most restaurants in Vegas do this anyway if there are 5 or more in a party.
  • 3 O'clock Club - This website has good deals everyday. Some popular Vegas restaurants are on here such as Hash House a Go Go.

  • Groupon - Everyday is a new deal. They offer deals on a little bit of everything.

  • EverSave - mostly savings on products which comes in handy if you plan to do some shopping!
  • Zozi - Deals on Vacations, weekend getaways, yoga, helicopter rides and more!
  • GoldStar has heavily discounted tickets to shows in Las Vegas. They even offer free admission to some shows and events.

Restaurante Casa Colonial by Ricardo - Comayagua, Honduras

Restaurante Casa Colonial (Colonial House Restaurant) Also know as Ricardo's is located in the Central Park of Comayagua, Honduras, next to the cathedral.  We got the chance to eat there on our family trip into the town.

According to my husband this is the best restuarant in Comayagua.  I think most people would agree.  It is a great place filled with art and antiques.  This is the front room of the Ricardo's.

We sat in the middle room.  It had a romantic fill to it.  Behind this room is a large outdoor patio and clean restrooms.  There was no AC inside, so next time we will sit outside.

Pictured here are what they called Enchiladas.  We would call them tostados or chalupas.  These enchilades were phenomenal.  Probably they best thing we ordered!

These are the tacos, also very good.

I got the typical plate "Plato tipico".  It came with plantains covered in cream, rice, grilled steak, cheese, beans, and salso.  It was good.

The jalapeno steak with rice, potatoes, and beans.  The grilled potatoes were the second best thing on any of our plates.  I don't know what they season them with, but they were excellent.
