St. Mark's Square at the Venetian

Another fun thing to see for free in Vegas is inside the Venetian hotel's Grand Canal shops in Las Vegas. They have a replica of St. Mark's square in Venice, Italy. They even had a mini orchestra out there!

Fremont Experience in downtown Las Vegas

Fremont Experience fun is completely Free in Vegas.

On Fremont street in down town Las Vegas you never know what your going to get.  Each time we've been the light show is different and there are different acts performing. All the entertainment on Fremont street is free.  You can decide if you want to tip an act you've stopped to watch.  If you want to take a picture with a celebrity look a like, you are expected to pay $1.

Last week we saw the Country Superstar Tribute at the Golden Nugget.  Afterwards, we went outside to see what was going on.  The first 3 pictures are of one of the light shows at Fremont Experience.

Here are two guys randomly performing strength tricks.  This is the first time I have seen them out there and they were great.  You'll notice in the pictures that they are performing without a mat underneath them, just a blanket.  We made sure to tip, because I really want them to be able to buy a mat!

There were a lot of acts that night, but most were not appropriate for my Family Travel blog content, like an almost nude Native American!  We also saw part of a wedding going on right outside the Golden Nugget.  It was a biker wedding and different from anything I've seen.  At one point my oldest asked me if it was a joke.  Just another example of the Fremont Experience variety.  You never know what you are going to see!

Conservatory at Bellagio decorated for Christmas

With each season the Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas changes the decorations inside their conservatory. I always pop in here on my Las Vegas Vacation because it's always changing. Here are pictures of their Christmas decorations.

Where to get a free beer in Vegas

Unless you are gambling drinks are never free in Vegas.  Recently, I spent $12 on a beer at the Ghostbar over at the Palms.  So, I was surprised when my husband and his brother found a place giving out free beer.
My brother in law had read about a bar called Double Down that he wanted to go to.  While him and my husband were in Double Down their car got towed.  Always make sure you are parking somewhere you will not get towed.  They parked in a 7-11 parking lot.  Not knowing what to do while they wait to hear back about the car, they look around and see the Freezone.  They don't want to go back to Double Down and Freezone is advertising free beer, so problem solved.
They go in and there's no catch; you can even get more then one free drink and there is no cover!  They both got 3 free pints of beer while they were there.  Freezone turns out to be a very popular gay bar in Vegas.  Everyday Freezone offers free beer from 8 PM until 1 AM and free pool.  This is a great way to save money while your in Vegas.  To find out more about the Freezone or gay friendly hotels, restaurants, activities, or bars in the Las Vegas area visit Gay Travel Buddy.

Sugar Factory - Las Vegas strip

The Sugar Factory is the brand new candy store that opened in front of the Paris Hotel, in Las Vegas that is known for couture lollipops.  I didn't know that there was such thing as a couture lollipop.  I had bad feelings about this store because they knocked down the beautiful fountain in front of the Paris casino to build it.  I changed my mind after going in there.  It is really well done and fun for the kids.

They let the kids sample candy for Free until they can decide what they want.  My kids, of course, took advantage of this and had at least ten samples.  There is also an ice cream counter, hand made chocolates, and gourmet cupcakes.  You are also allowed to sample the ice creams.  My son sampled 4-5 of those!

The other half of the store that I did not get any picture of is their restaurant, Sugar Factory American Brasserie.

Pawn Stars shop - Las Vegas

Once again I find myself at the Gold and Silver pawn shop featured on the tv show Pawn Stars.  I'm not sure why, but everyone wants to go to this pawn shop.  I haven't seen the show yet.  Maybe I should so I can "get it".  Everyone I take is surprised how small the shop is.  Apparently it looks much bigger on tv.  The shop is as big as it appears in the pictures I took.  It is free to get in and can be found not far from Fremont Street.  The address for Pawn Stars is 713 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89101-6755.  The phone number to the store is (702) 385-7912.  It is also kid friendly.

Valley of Fire

The Valley of Fire is in Nevada just an hour north east of Las Vegas. It's a great place for family camping. With the location so close to Vegas you could have a weekend getaway or just take a day trip to let the kids climb and do some hiking.  Valley of Fire fun fact - it was Nevada's very first state park.

They have places for tent camping and lots of rv spaces some with hook ups. It's first come, no reservations. Every site has a fire pit. Camp fires are allowed.
