Trip without kids

A while back I mentioned that we had decided to go on a trip without our kids. I am so excited. We haven't had a vacation without them since 2005. It is always so hard to figure out who is going to watch them, how are we going to get them there and all that other stuff. Lucky for us my mom and sister are willing to watch them for what is going to be about two and a half weeks. We have decide to go to Italy and Spain. We are going to hit the towns of Rome, Venice, Barcelona and Madrid. We have never been to Europe.

Let me know if you have any tips on traveling over there or on any of these cities!

teaching my 5 year old to read

My 5 year old is going to start kindergarten in barely a month and she is not reading at the level we want her to. We have been doing the Bob books, but for whatever it is just not sticking. So, today feeling discouraged I began to think about how he tought our older son to read. We did it with Bob books, but we also practiced certain words. After a few internet searched I found a website I like with a list of 100 words that your child should memorize. I just got done writing then all out on flash cards and I am feeling motivated again! Here is a link to the website that I found.

I would love to hear about what you are doing to get your kids ready for reading?

Surveys for money

I read someone's blog about three months ago that mentioned that they use all these different survey companies to make money. So, I decided to try one. I have made 17.00 since signing up which is not very much, but I don't bother to do it most of the time. I have only taken two surveys both of which I didn't qualify for so it took less then thirty seconds. They do offer you a little money for reading emails. Basically I just open the email scan it and then hit the button that says confirm reading this email. Pretty simple. You do not get very much for this, but I can see how it would add up over time. Here is the link to the company.
