Ritz Carlton Orlando

Ritz Carlton OrlandoThe Ritz Carlton Orlando is located near Sea World, but tucked away from the busyness of Orlando. The property is extremely private and peaceful. They even have their own golf course and lake.

Ritz Carlton Orlando
The Ritz Carlton Orlando has gone all out on their kids room. For a fee you can drop your kids off and go out on a date. Here they can play, watch tv, game, do arts and crafts, read, and more.

I highly recommend watching for a deal for this hotel. They run some nice packages for families. I also suggest you use their dining special that includes childcare in their kids club. It's actually cheaper than paying separately for each.

Inflatable Life Vest for Kids

One of my must have travel items is probably also one of the strangest things I travel with. It's an inflatable life jacket for kids. You never know where you might end up that doesn't provide a life vest. This was the case everywhere we went in Honduras. No one had a life jacket at any of the places we went, but it didn't matter because we had our own.
This is the exact inflatable life jacket we travel with for our kids. It takes up almost no space at all in your suitcase. It's easy to blow up and it's held up well. I initially thought because it's plastic that it would last long, but it is very durable. It also dries easily, because it's plastic you can simply wipe it down with a towel.

This life jacket has been to Hawaii, Honduras, Florida, and so many more places with us.

Do you have a strange item you always travel with?

We had so much fun with this quick and easy science experiment. All you need is a bar of Ivory soap and a microwave.
ivory soap
Place the bar of Ivory soup in a large bowl and microwave for two minutes. With in two minutes you will have created a soap cloud.

Over at Steve Spangler science you will find out all the details of why this happens and can have a great discussion with your kids.

Abuelo's Chile con Queso recipe

This is the Abuelo's restaurant's recipe for Chile con Queso. They graciously shared their exact recipe on their facebook page!

Abuelos Chile con Queso
1 lb. Velveeta - cut into a 1/4" small pieces
1/2 cup of whole milk
1 TBS of butter
2 TBS of diced Poblano Peppers, seeded
2 TBS of diced jalapeños (use more if more heat is desired) seeded and deveined.
2 TBS of diced onions
2 TBS of diced red bell peppers

Wash all produce before using.

Mix Velveeta with milk and melt in a double boiler (or you can place in a microwave proof bowl and microwave for approximately 45 sec., stirring once). While the cheese is melting, melt the butter in a sauté pan and add the rest of ingredients and cook until tender, being careful not to burn.
When cheese mix is melted add the sauté ingredients to bowl and using a plastic spatula fold together.
Serve with tortilla chips.
