She Speaks

I mentioned in an earlier post that I am a product reviewer.  She Speaks is another great website I do product reviews for.  You can register on their website. Then if you match up with one of their current product promotions they will send you a survey to see if you qualify and to see if you are interested in reviewing it.  If selected you receive the product in a few weeks. After trying it you have to fill out a survey or write a review. Sometimes both.
The most recent review I did was for a credit card.  I did not have to apply or have the card already.  All I had to do was review the card on the website and then give feed back.  The reward was a 1 year magazine subscription.  I have only gotten picked for a few reviews, but still it's free stuff when I do.

The best place to meet Tiger, Pooh, and Eeyore at Disney World

Animal Kingdom
I have noticed that the last few times I have had friends visit Disney World they did not take any time to meet characters.  Their children wanted to, but there were so many other things to see and do that it wasn't worth the time it takes to wait in line to meet them.

Animal Kingdom - The Best Place at Disney World to meet Characters

We learned after many visits  that the Animal Kingdom is the best place to meet the characters.  The lines are always shorter than in the other parks.  We got to see Eeyore, Tiger and Pooh every single time we went to the Animal Kingdom, because there was literally never a line.

Where to Meet Pooh, Tiger, and Eeyore

You can find them quickly after getting into the the Animal Kingdom. Once you are inside the Animal Kingdom head towards Dinoland.  Right before you cross a bridge into Dinoland turn right, you will see to the right a path.  You follow it down towards the river and there will be Pooh, Eeyore, and Tiger.  There is usually a staff member stationed next to the tiny marker.

Savvy Source: sweet deals for families plus educational savings building

Savvy Source is a website I just found that I love.  They offer discounts on fun things for families in a bunch of major cities and help you save money towards education.  Kind of like groupon and Upromise combined.  The big difference is when you purchase one of their deals they put 5% of what you spend into a savings account for your child to use for preschool!  Such a unique and great idea.  Wish I had thought of it!  They also have a lot of great resources on their website as well.
The other thing I really like about them is their incentive program for bloggers.  If you are a blogger and want to find out more about this click here

Parenting with Rewards

I believe in rewards and incentives as a form of discipline, but I also use them in other areas like reading.

Anytime a kid's movie comes out that was a book originally I don't allow my kids to see the movie. At least, not until we have read the book. Often times kids get down about reading. When my kids do this I use watching the movie as an incentive. Instead of them complaining about reading they can't wait to finish the book and will actually ask me to read them another chapter.

Some ideas to get you started are:

The Chronicles of Narnia Box Set: Full-Color Collector's EditionThe Chronicles of Narnia - so far they have made two books in this series into movies. A third book will come out as a movie this summer.

Percy Jackson Complete Library, Books 1-5 (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Volumes 1-5)Percy Jackson & the Olympians - They have already turned the 1st book of the series into a movie and I know there are plans to make more books into movies.  This is a five book series.  I must say the movie was not near as good as the book and it was very different.  We read the book first and then watched the movie.  For the first time my kids realized how much better a book could be and was.  I thought that was a great lesson for them.

Diary of a Wimpy kid - Right now there are 4 books out, but the next one comes out at the beginning of November.  My kids think these books are hilarious.  They read them over and over.  They loved the movie too.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Books 1-4: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Rodrick Rules, The Last Straw, and Dog DaysThe Complete Ann of Green Gables Collection (Volume 1-8) (Ann of Green Gables, Volume 1-8)

Ann of Green Gables - I am unsure of how many of these books were made into movies.  I know the first 2 in the series are definately movies.  Also, for younger children you can get a children's version.  I found one at WalMart for $5 and it was a hardback.

Star Wars - there are tons of these books and they come in various reading levels

InboxDollars - make money from home

I know a lot of moms out there are looking for different ways to make money.  I know this because I am a mom and I like the idea of making a little money from home.  I can't remember any more who told me about InboxDollars, but I signed up at least six months ago.  Since then I have looked at some of the emails.  They pay you a few cents to read the email they send.  I have never tried any of the products, played their games, or taken any of their surveys.  The only thing I have done is read some of the emails and so far I have made $9.70.  So, if you are looking for something you can make some money off of this might be worth it.

Lunch box idea

I usually pack my kids everyday, but it gets difficult to come up with new ideas. My daughter is allergic to peanuts and oats, which rules out any of those ideas.
I saw a cute blog the other day devoted to bento box lunches. I'm not going to go out and buy my kids bento sets but I did take a look around my kithcan and found some items I could use. These are sandwich holders from Tupperware that u got a long time ago. They worked out really well.
