Splash Condominiums Pool and Water Park in Panama City Beach, Florida

Splash condominiums are fantastic beach front condos in Panama City Beach. This would be a great place to stay on vacation in Panama City Beach. They have a small water park, a few pools, mini lazy river, and a splash pad. Needless to say we all had a lot of fun.
Behind my husband is a bar area where you can get food and drinks. It's where you see the umbrellas.

There is a small tube slide that is safe for even small children.

Noah is getting totally drenched on the slide.
The hot tub is next to the kids area, so parents can sit in the hot tub and keep an eye on the kids. This was my favorite part.
They also have a nice size regular swimming pool.

Hope Lake Lodge in Cortland, NY

Hope Lake Lodge is a hotel and waterpark, located in Cortland, NY (not far from the NY Jets training camp) offers the perfect place for a family retreat.

Hope Lake Lodge is not only an award winning beautiful hotel, it's also the home of Cascades Indoor Waterpark. The entire area around Hope Lake Lodge is a recreation area. In the summer they offer zip lining, ropes courses, hiking, fishing, and all kinds of other fun activities. In the winter they offer skiing, tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and more. On top of all that the rooms and suites are huge. Here is a picture tour of our suite at Hope Lake Lodge.

It was nice having the sink area separate from the shower area. It made getting ready quicker.

I loved the fitness room. They provided towels and water. There were 2 or 3 tv's in the room.

Sesame Place

Sesame Place
Sesame Place the Sesame Street theme park
Did you know that there is an entire theme park in Pennsylvania dedicated to Sesame Street? We went there for last minute day trip last week. It's small, but packed with fun. I actually enjoyed the fact that the park was small. I had all three kids with me by myself, and the park was easy to manage.

Sesame Place's target audience is families with toddlers. Which makes it great in most ways, but a pain in other ways. For example to get on the lazy river you have to wait in line and the life guard helps every single person. This is perfect if you have young children and need help. If you are like me and have older kids then it stinks to have to stand in line for so long.

The best advice I can give you is bring a bathing suit. I would guess that 65% of this park is water features

Again, because the park is toddler friendly most of the water play areas are shallow. I think the deepest water in the park was the lazy river. There were at least two splash pads and one very shallow pool. Sesame Street amusement park

It's definitely worth the wait for the
large family tube ride, it was so fun.

If you are not into water rides there is still plenty to do. The climbing course was massive, but a bit to difficult for my five year old. Luckily there are lots of rides (including this yellow bounce thing you see in the picture below) right next to the climbing area. This play area is great place for multiple ages. Your older kids can run around while still in sight, while you are nearby with the younger kid.

Aqua Duck water ride on the Disney Fantasy

While on the Disney Fantasy Cruise I had the chance to ride the Aquaduck and have it filmed. I look like an idiot, but the video will still give you an idea of what to expect on the ride. It is not scary at all.

eating CHEAP at Disney World

Eating at Disney World can be very expensive. Keep in mind you can take in food. We usually take in lots of snacks, bottled water, Gatorade and juice boxes. We also take lunchables for the kids.  You can not bring in anything that is in a glass container.  You can bring in a soft sided cooler, but not a hard sided one.  If you go to the water parks you can take in a hard sided container.

Cheap places to eat at Disney World:

Epcot - There is a place in France called Boulangerie Patisserie where you can get a ham and cheese croissant for 3.25. These are so good and large. They will even heat it up if you like!

Magic Kingdom - At Cosmic Rays you can order a double cheeseburger and an extra bun. You can make two hamburgers. You can load it with as much extras as you want at the condiments bar.  Their free condiment bar consists of lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, sauteed onions, and sauteed mushrooms.

At Tortuga Tavern you can order a taco salad, burrito, or nachos and load them up at the free condiment bar. You can essentially make the meals much larger that way you order less meals.

Disney Studios - At Backlot Express you can order a double cheese burger and an extra bun kit (bun, tomato, lettuce) for less than $2 and then make two hamburgers.

Great Wolf Lodge in WA

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge a few times about a year ago. Our kids loved it and we did too. At the time we were living right outside of Portland, OR so we visited the one up in Washington, Grand Mound. It had been a very cold winter and it was very refreshing to step into their water park that they keep extremely warm. I think they keep it at 78 degrees.

The rooms were awesome. There was a refrigerator and microwave. The kids had a bunk area with their own tv. This may not sound like much but what a difference it makes to have that little separate area!

There were also wall hangings, treasure boxes, and other strange things that would "go off" when you waved a magic wand at them. My kids loved this feature! You can get a wand in their magic shop.

The actual water park had tons to do. A kiddie area, wave pool, body slides, tube slides, hot tub and a swimming area with basketball and lily pads to cross.

I would definitely recommend this. It is expensive so be sure to sign up for their mailing list to get good deals. We were able to get a deal that they mailed to us for $175 a night and another time we used the military discount and got the room for $170 a night. Both times we were able to get this rate on a bunk room. It is expensive to eat at the actually hotel. Go into town to eat!

Since we have been there they have opened another family tube ride and a putt putt course.

Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World

I am a huge fan of waterparks and I must say Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon did not disappoint.

  • They had an awesome kiddie waterpark, complete with sand to play in.  There is a large wave pool, body slides, snorkeling, a lazy river, tube slides and more.
  • You can bring your own life jackets for the kids, but there is really no need to, because they offer kids life jackets for free.  You pick them up in the same area you would get a locker.
  • You can bring in a cooler.  Unlike the other Disney parks where you can only bring in soft sided coolers, there are no restrictions on them here.  We took in a large hard sided cooler filled with food, because we knew we were be there all day.
  • We also brought in the stroller for the baby to take his nap in.  We found a spot in the sand near the kiddie area and set up for the day!

Kid's area at Typhoon Lagoon
Includes a large ship where you can spray water at people, tunnels, and tube slides just for kids, tiny slides on a splash pad and soft things to climb on.

Snorkel Zone at Typhoon Lagoon
Something unique that I had never seen at a water park, was the snorkeling area.  You could check out goggles for free.  The water is quite cold, because there are sting rays and sharks in there!
This is a picture of the bottom of one of the bigger tube slides.

Blizzard Beach waterpark

Blizzard beach is one of Disney World's waterparks. I wish I had taken more pictures but this was all I got.

They have a large kid area where they can climb in these floating alligators. The water is very shallow in this area. To each side of this area are slides and up above is a little area with very small slide where little kids can climb and slide.Disney's Blizzard Beach

Disney's Blizzard Beach

Disney's Blizzard Beach

This is an area for bigger kids. They can challenge themselves to cross on these floating ice pads while hanging on to the rope above. Also in this area was some body slides and a little zip line where they could zip out let go and fall into the water.

Disney's Blizzard Beach

Disney's Blizzard Beach This water park was a little to spread out for us. We did a lot of walking to get to the rides. Many of the rides are from the top of the "mountain" and they go straight down. They were to high for our kids to ride them, but they were fun. they also had a family ride that was fun.
