Lancome Dream Tone - #bareselfie

I reviewed the Lancome Dream Tone for SheSpeaks and received the product in exchange for my review.

About Lancôme DreamTone

DreamTone is the next generation in dark spot correction. This customized skin tone correcting serum is so powerful, 72% of women dare to bare their skin.* The new DreamTone is 3 barely-tinted serums formulated to visibly correct dark spots, color imperfections and give you a more even-looking skin tone. It comes in 3 serums customized for your skin tone: 1- Fair, 2 – Medium, 3 – Dark.

Lancôme DreamTone retails for $98 for a 1.3 fl oz. bottle and is available for purchase at Lancôme.com and department stores nationwide

What I thought

I'm from Texas and I love make up and beauty products. I wear makeup everyday, unless I know for sure I'm not leaving the house. Often times when I'm feeling down I just buy thicker makeup and it works wonders for my mood!! (I'm kind of kidding.) So, I jump at the chance to review this product.

It comes in a nice bottle and I really liked the way the cap opened, you twist it and it opens. What can I say I lose a lot of lids, so I was happy there was not a separate lid.

Personally, I did not see a difference. Maybe I need to use it longer or more often. Maybe I just have a more even skin tone then some, so it did not make much difference. Who knows. I checked in to see other reviews to see what others thought and it seems that those with more prominent dark spots absolutely loved the product and highly recommend it.

Also, it has a very strong scent that did not appeal to me. I have allergies and prefer scentless products. If you are the same then I suggest going to the department store and smelling it before purchasing.

Here is my #bareselfie I agreed to do, even though afterward I could not figure out why I would ever agree to this. I am a makeup person through and through. That's why I took it as far away as I could at a weird angle!

Learn About Cascade #MyPlatinum and Win a Dishwasher

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”
Cascade Platinum

I have the great misfortune of doing dishes every single day, sometimes twice a day, and on a really bad day three times! So, when Cascade Platinum Pacs ask me to review them, I thought why not, I'm doing tons of dishes. Not only that, but until recently I washed every single dish by hand before putting it in the dishwasher. My friend Mel actually mocks me for doing this. I've always felt I had to do this otherwise my dishes wouldn't come out clean. Yes, this makes washing dishes a much more time consuming task.

What is Cascade Platinum

Cascade Platinum Pacs feature an advanced triple action recipe that is specially designed to leave dishware virtually spot-free and help prevent the build-up of hard-water film on dishwasher walls.
(I could have used this when we lived in Vegas! The hard water there was horrible for the dishwasher and the dishes.)

Why I Love Cascade Platinum

  • Powers away tough, 24 hour stuck-on food (I have three kids and I find dishes everywhere and often there's food stuck on it. I know, disgusting. Normally I would have had to soak those dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, but now I don't have to.)

  • Eliminates the need to pre-wash dishes (I don't pre-wash my dishes anymore! This saves me tons of time. LIFE CHANGING)

  • Helps maintain the look of new machines and helps prevent additional hard-water build-up (Although in Oregon this is not a huge issue, in West Texas and Las Vegas it was a major issue. To have a product that helps combat against hard water build up is great.)

  • Delivers exceptional dishware shine (My son loves everything to be super clean and he actually noticed how clean the silverware was. He's 12.)

Win a New Dishwasher or a $10,000 KitchenAid Kitchen Makeover and 1 year supply of Cascade

GetUncommon.com Review and Giveaway

Customizable cases for your iPhone, iPad, iPod and MacBookThis is a sponsored post. Recently, I was given the opportunity to use my child's artwork to create a custom case for my iPod for review from GetUncommon.com, they also provide a $50 gift card to  GetUncommon.com for one of my lucky readers.

GetUncommon.com sells iPad, iPod, Mac Book cases and more. They have various case types to choose from. You can choose one of their designs or you can upload your own.

First I had to pick out which type of case I wanted. I went with the Deflector. It's a one piece case that offers a slim fit.

Next I had to pick a design. I choose to upload my own design. I considered using a picture of my kids, but instead used a piece of artwork that my oldest son had drawn. I snapped a picture of his artwork and then uploaded it on the  GetUncommon.com website. I adjusted the size and added some text to it: Designed by Noah.

You can take a photo of anything and turn it into a case.

Check out this quick video to see how to customize your own case.

I got my new case just a few days after I ordered it and look how good it turned out. One of these custom cases would make an awesome Mother's Day gift!

2013 Chevy Traverse

The 2013 Chevy Traverse is for the mom that doesn't want to drive a minivan! I say this as a
mom who hates driving a minivan. In my defense, there weren't a whole lot of options when we went from a 2 kid car to a 3 kid car seven years ago. So, what is it you wonder that make me think this SUV can compete with the minivan! For me it came down to two things, the seating arrangement and the storage in the back.

Seating Arrangement in the Chevy Traverse

The seating simply put, is just like a minivan. Meaning 2 seats in the front, 2 seats in the middle that do not touch, and the traditional 3 seats in the back row. For me personally it is a major deal to be able to sit all three kids in their own seats. I do not want my kids touching each other. I do not want to listen to "She's touching me." or "He's breathing on me." Mom's I know that you know what I am talking about!

Chevy Traverse Storage

Everyone knows that minivans crush the SUV when it comes to storage. Chevy obviously realized this and have made some improvements. The storage in the Traverse is almost twice what I've seen in comparable suv's. Is it as much as a minivan? No, but for an SUV with a 3rd row, it's the best I've seen so far.

Chevy Traverse - Other Things I Like

  • The Traverse has some interesting and unique interior styling like the threading in the front is a light blue. At first I wasn't sure what to think of the splash of color somewhere unexpected, but it did look good.
  • My personal favorite thing is the electronics inside of the Chevy Traverse, especially the household plugin! I've never seen one of these in a car before and it's about time car makers added them.
  • I'm not to savvy when it comes to the mechanics of the car, but I can tell you that the brakes worked great.

Disclaimer - Thanks to Chevy for bringing out some cars for us TravelingMoms to try out during our conference. All opinions are my own.

Family by Sygic - Review and Giveaway

Have you entered the phase of life where your children have phones? We crossed that milestone many months ago. I like the kids having phones so I can contact them at any time. Unfortunately sometimes they don't pick up, like a few weeks ago when my son didn't get off the bus. I called his phone, no answer. I called the school, they put me on hold. If I had a tracker on his phone I could have immediately located him. Instead of panic and worry, I would have realized he was around the corner. He was goofing off and didn't get off until two bus stops later.

So, now you can imagine my delight when I was selected as an ambassador for Family by Sygic. I finally got to have my peace of mind back!
  • Family by Sygic is the family locator, children safety and emergency alerts app awarded by the largest parent-testing community Parent Tested Parent Approved.

  •  Family by Sygic is Sygic's latest app for families and with a touch of a button you can see where every member of your family is in real time.

  • You can even set up zones, safe zones and unsafe zones. If your child goes into an unsafe zone you will receive an alert.

Right now for a limited time the app is free. They have an app for iPhone and for Android.

Enter to Win an Offline Sygic GPS Navigation app for iphone or Android

On Android, the app will have over 111 maps  of Europe, America, Southeast Asia and Africa to choose from. An  $89.99 value!
On iPhone, the Sygic GPS Navigation app will have maps of North America  and  an additional app with maps of Europe a value of $79.99
a Rafflecopter giveaway

These are fantastic apps to have, especially when traveling to different parts of the world. I know this for a fact, because I've gotten lost in Barcelona, Rome, Scotland, Ireland, and pretty much everywhere else I've been! It's always best to have a gps when traveling.

This giveaway is open to Canada, US and Europe Readers.

As a Brand Ambassador with PTPA and Sygic, I received compensation for my participation. However, all opinions expressed on this blog are my very own.

ABC Mouse – Review and Giveaway

When I found out ABC Mouse was going to let a blogger try out their site I jumped at the chance.

What is ABC Mouse you ask?

  • ABCmouse is an Early Learning Academy with a full online curriculum for preschool through Kindergarten.

My youngest is in kindergarten and learning to read. I know they do a lot at school, but there’s 27 kids in his kindergarten class and it’s just too many. So, we’ve been trying to supplement at home which is not always easy.

We’ve actually tried another computer program and he hated it, so I wasn’t sure if he would even try ABC Mouse. I have two of their free phone apps on my cell and he plays those, so when I said ABC Mouse he already seemed to have a positive attitude towards it.

Much to my delight he immediately got right into it. I set him up on the learning path and he did 5 activities in one sitting. (If you have a high energy little guy like mine then you will know why that’s a huge deal.) He enjoyed it so much he discussed it with me and played again later that day. Since then he has play every single day. Sometimes he does the learning path that was customized for his age and sometimes he just does free choice. I love listening to him sing a long with the songs.

 ABC Mouse
Another great things is the parents section. Here I can watch his progress and adjust his levels if I want. There’s also explanations of the various lessons. They’ve got hundred of lessons.

Win a one year subscription to ABCMouse.com

Here's your chance to win your children a one year subscription to ABC Mouse. You can also check out their Facebook page for more info http://www.facebook.com/ABCmouse

Esio Hot and Cold Beverage System

Have you heard about the latest and greatest drink system out there?

It's the Esio Hot and Cold Beverage System. This handy machine always has hot water and cold water ready to go. So, whether you want to make yourself a cup a coffee or a glass of ice tea, it's ready. The Esio includes a strength selector. If you want a really strong cup of coffee you can turn the strength all the way up. If your like me and enjoy mild coffee, you can choose the lowest strength.

Our family has had so much fun lately with our new Esio Hot and Cold Beverage System. We've used it everyday since we got it. I've already had to order more E-Paks from the Esio website. They have free shipping! You can get them at Walmart too. The kids love the constantly ready hot water. They make themselves at least one hot chocolate everyday. I love waking up and having my cup of coffee ready in seconds.
Esio Hot and Cold Beverage System
I've even used my new Esio for entertaining. I had the ladies over for margaritas using the Crystal Light Margarita E-Pak. These margaritas are only 10 calories a serving, plus however many calories are in the tequila you add. You can see from the picture above how to pop in the E-Pak for the beverage you want to make. The E-Paks are self sealing, that way you can use your 14 servings whenever is convenient for you.
Esio Hot and Cold Beverage System Margaritas
One second the adults are making margaritas and the next moment the kids are making hot chocolates.
My daughter was quite the little hostess showing everyone how to use the Esio. She made lots of hot chocolates to go with the butterscotch cookie bars!

The kids preferred juice to go with their pizza, so we put in a V-8 Splash Berry Blend E-Pak, selected the lowest strength, and they all enjoyed fruit juice with less sugar.

I received a gift for this review.

Until We Hug Again Recordable Bear review

Going through constant military tdy's and deployments the last few years has really taken a toll on my youngest child. So, I've been trying to come up with ways to make the constant separations more bearable (no pun intended) and that's why I am so in love with this bear from Hallmark right now! It's the Hallmark - Until We Hug Again Recordable Bear. My husband was able to record a special 30 second message for our youngest boy. Every time our son hugs the bear the message plays. My son has carried this bear around with him everywhere and played that message a hundred times. It has helped so much I had to share it on my blog.

I recently saw a $10 off coupon for the bear or bunny in Better Homes and Garden. Also, Hallmark offers a 10% military discount on Tuesdays!

Pressman Toys - iPieces review and giveaway

Have you heard about the new interactive games that have come out for your iPad? Pressman Toys has come out with lots of interactive iPad games including the Fishing Game, Game of Goose, Snakes and Ladders, Air Hockey and iPieces Pool.

Recently, Pressman Toys was gracious enough to send me two games to try out, iPieces Air Hockey and iPieces Pool (Billiards).  My kids loved both games and I love the fact that they are playing a game I can play too. Even better for me the small pieces, it's going to be easy to pack for a road trip or even a flight with kids!

I was most excited to try out the iPieces Air Hockey game. I love air hockey and wondered how much fun it would be on the iPad. It is fun, but more challenging, because little circles float on to the screen with - or + signs. If you hit one you either gain points or lose points. You can be up by several points and instantly be tied or even behind. Check out this video to see how it works.
iPieces Pool (Billiards) is a little more straight forward. It's the same rules as regular pool.
iPieces are available for purchase at Toys“R”Us, Barnes and Noble, K-mart, Radio Shack, Learning Express, and BJ’s Wholesale Club stores nationwide.

You have a chance to win an iPieces game of your choice:   the Fishing GameGame of GooseSnakes and LaddersAir Hockey or iPieces Pool.

Win a $50 Gas Card: Are you WreckCheck Ready?

Have you heard about NAIC's (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) free WreckCheck app? WreckCheck in an app you can use when you've had an auto accident. You pull it up and answer all the questions. When your done it sends you an email with all the info and your insurance agent!

I don't know about you, but the last time I got in a wreck I was freaked out and wasn't sure what to do. With this app it doesn't matter if I'm freaked out, because it will tell me what to do and what info I need to get.

Not only does it help you through the wreck situation, but it also has a lot of tips. For example did you know that if there is an injury you may or may not be liable. Some states are no fault states! I always assumed if it was your fault, then you paid. I also learned that you should never let someone take a photo of your license. This is something I never thought about and if I had gotten into a wreck prior to learning this, I may have complied without thinking it through!

Enter to win a $50 gas gift card good at Phillips 66, Shell or Quik Trip; your choice.
